Clara Lehv

412 Squash Coach

Clara joined 412 Squash as a coach in the Fall of 2024.
 

Clara grew up playing squash in New York and was the captain of The Spence School’s varsity squash team and number one player. She was honored as an All-American and three time Scholar Athlete. She currently holds a US Squash Level 1 coaching certificate.
 

As a Junior player, Clara reached the highest US ranking of 12 and represented Team USA at the British Junior Open in 2018 and 2020. In high school she studied abroad at a boarding school in England, Wycliffe College and played on the Elite Squash Squad. There she traveled around Europe with the team competing on the international squash circuit and reached her highest world ranking of 63. 


Upon returning to the U.S. she rejoined the Spence Varsity team as the number one player and led the team to a Division II title in 2019. Her senior year as the team captain and number one player, she led the team to their highest ever national ranking, winning both AAIS, NYSAIS tournaments and placing tenth in the country in Division I at nationals. 

 

Clara then went on to play on the Colby College women's varsity squash team. She played in the number 1 and 2 spots throughout her time on the team. Her sophomore year she led the Women to win the Epps Cup at nationals after winning her match in 3 decisive games against Georgetown University. 

 

In the summer of 2022 Clara traveled to Israel and won a Gold medal for Team USA in the 2022 World Maccabiah Games.
 

During the 2024-25 High School squash season, Clara coached the Nightingale-Bamford Varsity Squash team who had a historical season placing second in both AAIS and NYSAIS tournaments for the first time in school history. The team also finished 13th in Division II of High School nationals, the highest they have ever placed.

 

Off the court, Clara is working as a medical research assistant working on the neurological impacts that traumatic brain injuries have on children. She is also an  Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Clara is pursuing her goal of attending medical school and becoming a neurologist.
