Squash Shoes

SQUASH SHOES

To play squash, students should bring to the venue and then change into non-marking shoes. Should you need some recommendations for shoes, here are some online LINKS.

What are non-marking shoes?

Non-marking shoes are footwear designed with soles that do not leave black scuff marks or streaks on smooth, indoor surfaces. The soles of these shoes are specifically engineered to provide traction for quick, multi-directional movements while leaving the playing surface clean and undamaged.

Can a player wear running shoes for squash?

Running shoes are not permitted on the squash courts. Their design is not suited for the unique movements of squash and can increase a player's risk of injury while also damaging the court floors.

Squash Court Shoe Policy

BRING SHOES:

To protect the squash courts and ensure player safety, all players, regardless of age, must wear clean, non-marking court shoes. Players should CARRY (not wear) their non-marking shoes to the 412 Squash Center.

CHANGE INTO SHOES:

When onsite, players should change into their shoes before participating in a squash lesson or clinic.

SWITCH SHOES:

Afterwards, players should change back into their street shoes. Do not wear squash shoes outside the venue.
